CNH UK Ltd: Paul Cavedasca

Paul CavedascaCNH UK Ltd has been incredibly supportive whenever Paul has required time off for training and mobilisation commitments. After Hurricane Ivan devastated Grenada, Paul volunteered to serve, helping rebuild a school, community centre and doctor's surgery in St Davids.

Thanks to the support of his employers, Paul was able to help rebuild vital buildings within this village, and in return for this generosity, Paul was able to bring his new found skills back to his workplace.

Transferable skills

Paul believes that he brings his civilian head and all his working skills to the Army. However he also brings all his Army skills and experience back to his civilian role. When asked about his experience in St Davids, Paul said:

"In my experience it's not just the thinking side of things you learn - I also got involved in countless DIY tasks and had to instantly become part of a team."

Employer support

The people of St Davids in Grenada would not have been able to benefit from Paul, if he did not have such a supportive employer. This is what Paul said about his employer:

"CNH UK Ltd has been really good to me throughout my mobilisation and training commitments over the years. Generally every year I go away for at least 2 weeks and they give that to me as additional leave.  There's more information for employers these days than when I first became a Reservist - now you get a feeling that employers really understand what we do."
