Transferable skills
Quite simply the person, leader and manager I am today is the result of a blend of experiences - formal education, work based experiences and what I have learnt from the Territorial Army (TA).
I am currently attending the Territorial Army Command and Staff Course (TACSC), learning new skills such as strategy, planning and organising operations at a high level - all of which is immediately transferable into my current civilian role.
Employer Support
Cross Country Trains has always been very supportive and understanding of my commitments as a Reservist and others serving in the Reserve Forces.
"I am proud of having the opportunity to serve, but as proud of my company for supporting me throughout and really making it possible."
They were fantastic in supporting me and my family when I was mobilised and during my tour in Iraq. People in the company made my transition from 'suit' to 'deserts' easy by ensuring that things like my pension, insurance, and leave were quickly and simply resolved.
