Reservists invade The Abbey

On May 17th a friendly invasion of Woburn Abbey in Bedfordshire took place as over 300 Reservists & Cadets led by The Band of The Royal Artillery marched into the splendid grounds.

Reservists from 100 Regt RA and 158 Tpt Regt received medals from His Grace The Duke of Bedford for service in Afghanistan and Iraq. The Duke, accompanied by The Lord Lt of Bedfordshire and Brigade Commander, then took the salute at the passing parade.

VIP guests including many employers were treated to a grandstand view at the SaBRE hospitality marquee as the band entertained and parachutists dropped in from the heavens.

His Grace The Duke and the SaBRE Employer Support Committee then hosted 76 employer guests to a splendid lunch within the magnificent sculpture gallery of the Abbey. All in all, a splendid start to TA100 celebrations in the Region.

On May 24th over 60 guests from Hertfordshire based employers were invited to the Hertfordshire County Show and enjoyed the hospitality of County Employer Support Committee ably supported by the Lord Lt of Hertfordshire.

The show is an excellent example of the traditional English show and is always well supported.

On 31st May employers of Reservists in 3 Royal Anglian were in attendance at a Beating of Retreat and Reception held at Crix in Essex.

The Band of The Royal Anglian Regt were joined by the splendid and very different Royal Malay Regimental Band.

Lord Petre HM, Lord Lt of Essex and General Sir John McColl took the salute and subsequently hosted the following reception and presentations.
