The SaBRE website enables employers to endorse publicly their support for the Reserve Forces by listing the companies which have pledged support.

Beating Retreat 2008

Following the success of last year's event, 143 (West Midlands) Brigade are inviting employers from the West Midlands region to their Copthorne Barracks HQ in Shrewsbury on Thursday evening, 14th August, to enjoy a cocktail party followed by the musical spectacle of the Band of the Coldstream Guards Beating Retreat as the sun sets over the town.

Army Presentation Team

The Army Presentation Team tours the UK, briefing a wide cross-section of society, aiming to provide objective information about the role of the British Army. They will be visiting Kidderminster, Worcester and Telford during September.

Guests from all walks of life are invited to attend at local venues and are met by military hosts representing both the Regular and Territorial Army. After refreshment, the audience is invited into an informative 45 minute presentation which outlines UK Defence policy and explains the considerable contribution being made to Tri-Service and multi-national operations by the British Army. The presentation is designed to be informative, entertaining and thought provoking, and to stimulate a lively debate. There are further opportunities for discussion during the complimentary light buffet at the end of the evening.

A Land Rover Experience

35 Signal Brigade (V) will be hosting an exciting day in October when employers will try out the Land Rover range over a huge variety of terrain at the Home of the Legend in Solihull, and visit the factory for a tour to gain an insight into how these wonderful vehicles are constructed. Employers from the Solihull and Coventry areas who would like to experience these amazing vehicles, and find out more about employing Reservists, and how their transferable skills are used in the workplace, should contact us at WM SaBRE.

National Memorial Arboretum (NMA) Commemoration

As part of the TA's centenary celebrations, an event to commemorate and remember the service of the TA during times of conflict will be held at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire during the afternoon of Saturday 13 September. An act of remembrance will be followed by a March Past of serving and former members of the TA and an afternoon tea buffet will be served. Get in touch with us if you would like to know more.

TA100

This year sees the celebration of 100 years of the Territorial Army. There will be a number of local events taking place throughout the West Midlands to celebrate the occasion. If you employ a TA Reservist, do ask them what celebratory events are planned by their unit, and indicate your interest!
