Reservists Day at AWE

The Berkshire based AWE hosted a day to show its support for its much valued Reservist Employers. AWE is a defence organisation which employs around 4,500 staff across its two bases at Aldermaston and Burghfield in Berkshire and has a long-standing tradition of support for the Armed Forces. In this the centenary year of the Reserve Forces and Cadets Association, they showed their support and respect to the many members of the Reserve Forces who are on their workforce by putting on a special day on 16th July dedicated to these Reservists.

The Reservists' Day was a huge success and helped to increase understanding and awareness throughout the organisation of their Reservists' military roles. Reservist employees came into work at AWE in their uniform to show their pride in their military roles. As part of this years TA100 celebrations, July 16th also saw TA members all across the country coming to work in their uniform.

In recognition of the official policy of support that AWE now has in place, MD Dr Dan Cook accepted the SaBRE certificate of support on behalf of AWE and their Reservists.
