Employer Visits to Reserve Forces on Operations Overseas

The MoD arranges visits for employers to give them first-hand experience of the part Reservists play in Britain's Armed Forces operations and training exercises overseas. The visits normally last for 4 days and enable employers to observe Reservists in an operational or training environment.

In November 2008 Peter Bishop, Deputy Chief Executive of London Chamber of Commerce & Industry, visited Afghanistan: "As an organisation which provides business support and networking opportunities, LCCI are increasingly aware of the benefits of employing Reservists."

If you would like to be considered for future visits, please contact Mark Richards on 020 7384 4676.

Army Presentation Team Reception, The City, Tuesday 2 September 2008

The Army Presentation Team tours the United Kingdom throughout the year, talking to a wide cross-section of the community about the role played by the British Army in defending the United Kingdom's interests worldwide.

The presentation outlines UK Defence policy and explains the considerable contribution being made to Tri-Service and multi-national operations by the British Army. It will demonstrate how the Army has risen to recent operational challenges, outline their training, examine their equipment, and address issues relating to personnel and the use of Reservists.

If you would like to come to this presentation, or be included in guest lists for future Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force presentations in London please contact Wendy Phillips on 020 7384 4678.

Exercise Sharpe Shooter, The City, Tuesday 7 October 2008

Exercise Sharpe Shooter is an indoor shooting competition in which we offer company teams the chance to compete against each other in a fun, friendly environment. No previous shooting experience is required. Our aim in hosting this evening is to promote awareness of the Volunteer Reserve Forces among London firms.

The event will take place between 6pm and 9.30pm on Tuesday 7 October at the Territorial Army Centre in Worship Street, EC2A 2BE. The competition will be followed by a prize-giving ceremony and buffet supper where there will be a chance to compare scores in the bar.

Participation in the evening is free, but we are limited to a maximum of 10 competing teams of 3 people. You may, of course, bring along some supporters to cheer your team on. If you would like your company to participate in this unique event, please contact Mark Richards on 020 7384 4676. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

If you wish to attend any of the above events or for more information, please contact:
