Reservists

There was no problem offering time off for training.

We are very much a health oriented company and over the years we have had three Reservists working for us. Two of them, were in the medical side of the Army, so the training they had was very valuable in the workplace. One of the Reservists, Julie, who I knew the longest, was impressively organised. She was very structured, resilient and nothing ever phased her.

At Manor Pharmacy we have always been supportive of anyone who needed to take time off for training, as we feel they would reap the benefits when they came back, which means that we would reap the rewards too.

A better understanding

We sent a team of four to Exec Stretch last year and they still talk about it in a very positive way to this day. Each one of them learnt to identify their strengths and weaknesses and they all saw how they could work better together as a team. When they got back we restructured the way in which they worked together and it has been a huge success. It also gave them a real insight into what Reservists go through themselves, so they have a better understanding of their Reservist colleagues.
