New Range of Employer Support Materials
An essential resource in helping new employers of Reservists learn their rights and obligations.
SaBRE has recently redesigned the publications entitled Introducing SaBRE and A Guide for Employers. The Introduction to Employing Reservists (formerly Introducing SaBRE) has been designed as a first stop for new employers of Reservists. It provides employers with a summary of their rights and obligations and sign posts where they can find out more information if required. It is recommended that Units use this publication in Employer Notification correspondence and in initial contact with employers of Reservists. The Guide for Employers has now been updated, and re-tilted; A Guide to Employing Reservists. This is a comprehensive guide to employing a member of the VRF and should be distributed on a case by case basis when the need arises.
To obtain copies of these publications, contact your local RSCD or call the SaBRE Helpline. Both publications can be downloaded from the Employer Support Resources section under SaBRE publications.
Employer Notification letter template
The letter template used by Unit Commanders when writing to the employer of a Reservist has recently been updated. The template is available to download in MS Word or PDF file format from the Employer Support Resources section under Employer Notification.
JSP 516 The Reserve Forces Act
The Reserve Forces Act (JSP 516) has now been updated. This leaflet for Reservists is a guide to RFA 96 and related regulations, it does not amend or supersede them; nor is this leaflet an authoritative statement of law. You can request copies of this leaflet from the MoD Defence Storage and Distribution Centre, Llangennech. Alternatively, you can download the PDF from the Employer Support Resources section under Legislation or MoD JSP publications.
