What to take with you
All meals and specialist equipment will be provided. Here is a list of basics that you will need to bring with you.
How was it for you?
"It has been a great experience working in a team with people you don't normally work with. I have developed my ability to listen to people - everyone has valid points so listening to everyone and responding to each situation individually is key."
Caroline McDade | Drivers Jonas
"Executive Stretch is a small investment that gives a great deal back and is something I send my staff on every year. Because the staff get put into teams with strangers it helps to divide up the normal office dynamics, so people take on different roles to what they're used to."
Nick Shepherd (Managing Partner) | Drivers Jonas
"I have learnt to tailor my management style to reflect the situation and take appropriate action. It has been interesting seeing different people take the leadership role with different approaches in the team so you can see what works and what doesn't."
David Byrne | QinetiQ
"There are three main reasons I send my staff on Executive Stretch every year. Firstly, because we are largely associated with the defence industry and it provides a better understanding of what they do. Secondly, we have a number of staff in the TA, so this helps our staff understand why their colleagues who are in the Reserve Forces have to leave on time every Tuesday evening or are sometimes tired on a Monday morning. And, thirdly, but most importantly, it is an opportunity to learn some vital skills from the best - no organisation is better equipped to teach leadership, communication and teamwork skills than the military."
